2,2,2-Trifluoroethyl trifluoromethanesulfonate (also named as Trifluoromethanesulfonic acid 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl ester, Trifluoroethanol triflate) is a powerful trifluoroethylating agent typically used for synthesis of fluorinated amino acids. It is also used as a reagent in thenantioselective preparation of cyclic N-aryl hydroxamic acids via phase-transfer catalyzed alkylation of nitrobenzyl bromides to give nirophenylalanines.
A facile synthesis of 1-H-2,2-difluorovinylphosphorus compounds from 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl trifluoromethanesulfonate and substitutions of their vinylic fluorines.
A general strategy for the synthesis of cyclic N-aryl hydroxamic acids via partial nitro group reduction.
